That being said, please know that in our testing we did find the hemp to most closely resemble tung oil. Long term tests from others who have used hemp have proven to be impressive. I know of one farm who sprayed their barn with it over 6 years ago and it's still holding up. Thanks! I have been happy with tung oil on paddles, wood countertops, and gunwales. I will have to keep hemp in mind when I run out of tung.

@Ethan: I have got it Citrus Solvent and pure tung oil from Real Milk Paint (http://www.realmilkpaint.com/index.html), not sure if they ship to Canada though. The Citrus Solvent is pretty caustic stuff. The MSDS scared me and I usually just thin the oil with mineral spirits.Tomhttp://tomcook.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6047037126620620136.post-58225772379984318732011-06-14T06:42:38.780-07:002011-06-14T06:42:38.780-07:00Hi Ethan. But his apparently originally came from a past customer that brought it over from Australia to give to him. (He also has actual Hippo Oil too! His stash is crazy!!!) Mike also borrowed a small quantity from the bottle belonging to a fellow paddle maker/friend for our research. But TOTALLY stay tuned as Badger is currently in the midst of working out a deal with a supplier to be able to offer this ecologically responsible (as opposed to other solvents) product ourselves!!! It's all still in development but very exciting! In the meantime, you can inquire at your local hardwood/paint store or buy online. Hope this helps!BADGER® Paddleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11842073815134117991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6047037126620620136.post-21129969054934038142011-06-14T00:35:29.158-07:002011-06-14T00:35:29.158-07:00May I ask where you bought your Orange Oil / Citru...May I ask where you bought your Orange Oil / Citrus Solvent in Canada?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
